TSS meeting with Secretary McMahon

Leaders from Tutelage School Solutions traveled to Washington, DC this week to elevate the voices of students, families, and educators working to transform public education across rural South Carolina. In a series of meetings with U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and members of the South Carolina Congressional Delegation, the team shared how Tutelage-supported public charter schools are expanding access to high-quality education in historically underserved communities.

Engaging in federal advocacy marks an important milestone in Tutelage's continued growth. Tutelage currently partners with five schools across the state, with current authorization and plans to open nine additional schools by the end of this decade.

Two of the newest schools, opening for the 2025-2026 school year, include Cogito Academy in Lancaster County and Libertas Academy Colleton. Located in the Corridor of Shame, a region along I-95 historically marked by chronic underachievement in education, Libertas Academy Colleton is poised to be a major success story in the near future.

Tutelage School Solutions currently supports a growing network of charter schools across South Carolina and is actively working to expand access to high-quality public education in more communities in the years ahead. As the network grows, we look forward to working closely with federal and state leaders to make sure South Carolina students are represented and supported at every level.
